Carlos Cartaxo (Valladolid, 1978) is a Spanish painter who graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca in 2003. He currently lives and works in Madrid. His work has been featured in various group exhibitions across Spain, including: “No tags” at XF Proyectos (Madrid), “Grados, Aristas” at HDT Gallery (Segovia), “Lenguajes del papel VIII” at Galería Fernando Pradilla (Madrid), “Línea” at Galería Pep Llabrés (Mallorca), “Alta fidelidad” at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, organized by the Martínez-Lloret Collection, and “60 años de geometría” at the Lonja de Calatrava, with the Ars Citerior Collection . In 2007, he was awarded the Caravana Internacional de Artes Plásticas prize, which led him to showcase his work in cities such as Belgrade, Ohrid, and New York . Notable solo exhibitions include: “Modelos de construcción” at the Centro Cultural Pérez de la Riva (Madrid) and “False Store Window” at Salmaia Spai D’art (Altea). Both exhibitions highlight his interest in transcending the two-dimensional plane of the canvas by creating painted three-dimensional objects. In the past five years, he has continuously participated in major contemporary art fairs in Madrid, such as Estampa, DrawingRoom, Art Madrid, JustMad, and JustLX Lisboa.
