Elena Gual is an artist who immerses us in her powerful and meaningful artwork. From the first glance, her distinctive use of the palette knife can be appreciated, a tool that allows her to bring her creations to life in a unique and expressive way.
But Elena Gual’s work goes beyond technique. With a deep connection to identity and femininity, her paintings become a powerful means of expression and empowerment for women. Each brushstroke replicates women of different races, representing them in positions of mutual support, forming groups of strong and united women. In a world where solidarity and sisterhood are fundamental, Elena Gual conveys a clear message: together we are stronger.
However, Elena Gual’s journey has not been without challenges. For a while, she developed an allergy to turpentine, which limited her ability to use brushes in her work. But creativity and determination led her to find an innovative solution: the implementation of impasto technique in her artwork. Thanks to the discovery of essential oils, she has been able to paint with brushes again after years.
Now, for the first time, we can observe brushstrokes with touches of palette knife in highlights, creating a dynamic interplay between both tools.
In each of Elena Gual’s artworks, we can perceive the strength and courage of women, as well as a deep commitment to feminism and female empowerment. Her creations invite us to reflect on the importance of solidarity among women and the construction of a more equitable society. Through her artwork, Elena Gual shows us the beauty of diversity and reminds us that every woman has a unique and powerful story to tell.
