La Mirada Actual has published a press release regarding the exhibition Raíces by Mallorcan artist Elena Gual, taking place from October 3 to 28 at the Casa de Vacas Cultural Center in El Retiro. Organized by Arma Gallery, the exhibition features about thirty works that reflect Gual’s Andalusian roots. Through her unique palette knife technique, the artist explores themes of identity, empowerment, and cultural barriers, offering a contemporary view of her heritage.
In her own words, Gual explains that she draws inspiration from her ancestors and the vibrant Andalusian tradition to create a series that fuses the past with the present. Her distinctive approach allows her to add textures and layers to her portraits, infusing each piece with life and meaning. Arena Martínez, director of Arma Gallery, highlights the profound emotional connection that Gual’s works generate in the audience, emphasizing her artistic gift.
The exhibition, which is free to enter and open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, invites visitors to appreciate the cultural richness of the artist and her ability to transform it into vibrant art.
