Espacio Diario has published a press note about the successful exhibition Raíces by Mallorcan artist Elena Gual, which has been on display at Casa de Vacas since October 3rd and has attracted over 10,000 visitors. This exhibition, composed of around thirty works, reflects Gual’s Andalusian roots, which she describes as a fusion of the past and present, addressing themes of identity and heritage.
The exhibition showcases Gual’s mastery with the palette knife, a technique she discovered after an allergic reaction led her to abandon brushes. Through her portraits of inspiring women, Gual explores empowerment and cultural barriers, infusing her pieces with a deep sense of connection to her Andalusian history.
Arena Martínez, director of Arma Gallery, which organizes the exhibition, praises Gual’s ability to emotionally connect with the audience, noting that many visitors have spent long hours in front of her works, often moved to tears. The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to appreciate how Gual transforms her rich cultural heritage into vibrant and meaningful art.
