Rafael Jiménez (Córdoba, 1989) graduated in Fine Arts, specializing in Printmaking and Design, from the University of Seville in 2012. He began his artistic career in 2004 through graffiti, creating murals and participating in numerous events across Spain while exploring different approaches to painting and urban space.

Graffiti took him to New York, where he came into contact with some of the pioneers of urban art. This experience, followed by a period working with the archaeological team at the Nerja Caves in 2009, marked a turning point in his career and led him to devote himself exclusively to the visual arts. Since then, the distortion of images from the past and questions surrounding identity have become central to his practice. His work has been exhibited in cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Bilbao, Seville, Gijón, Málaga, Lisbon, Lima, Cologne, Lucca and Moscow, in twenty solo exhibitions and more than one hundred group shows.

Jiménez has received grants and residencies from the Antonio Gala Foundation for Young Creators, D-Mencía Art Exhibition, the 10th edition of AlNorte, PINEA in Rota (Cádiz), the Residencias a Quemarropa programme (Alicante), the 1st EmergenT Torremolinos Production Grant, the 3rd La Puebla de Cazalla Residency Grant and the 15th Genalguacil Pueblo-Museo Art Encounters.
