Wycliffe Mundopa’s vibrant paintings honor the often overlooked lives of women and children in his hometown of Harare, Zimbabwe. Through bright, theatrical canvases reminiscent of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Fauvists like Henri Matisse, Mundopa combines oil paint with fabric collage to create powerful visual narratives.

His work centers on mothers, caregivers, children, and sex workers, portraying the daily lives and resilience of communities across the city.

Wycliffe Mundopa studied at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe Visual Arts Studios and has exhibited internationally in London, New York, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Paris, Berlin, and more. His works are included in prominent collections such as the Ilana Goor Museum, the Right at the Equator project, the Museum of Modern Art of Equatorial Guinea, and the Lluís Coromina Foundation.
